Seitz: Large, rather slender species with narrow wings, mostly coloured orange and bluish-black; the abdomen exhibits short hair-tufts at the sides and at the end; the long palpi are prorect, the terminal joint turned somewhat downward. FW Cu1 proceeds from the lower cell-angle, M2 and M3 on a long pedicle from it. HW Cu1 rises before the lower cell- angle, whereas M2 and M3 rise together, or on a short pedicle likewise from the lower cell-angle or above it. The lycoides-group most strikingly copies the genus of beetles Colobothea.
